IN VITRO TOXICOLOGY

NOTOX advocates the use of alternatives to animal studies wherever possible. The company strategy incorporates principles based on the three R’s: Replacement, Reduction and Refinement. We therefore pay special attention to the development of new and sensitive in vitro toxicity assays.

In vitro tests performed at NOTOX include (but are not limited to):

Human Skin corrosion assay (OECD 431)
  Corrositex  (OECD 435)
Skin absorption flow through with human skin (OECD 428)
Human Skin irritation assay (draft proposal for a new guideline OECD)
Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability (BCOP) test (OECD 437)
Hen’s Egg Test – Chorioallantoic Membrane (HET-CAM) test

The genetic and in vitro toxicology section at NOTOX has highly qualified and dedicated staff to carry out high quality testing.  Scientists are experienced in working not only with well soluble and stable compounds, but also with poorly soluble, instable, volatile or colored compounds. New developments in the field of genetic and in vitro toxicology are constantly monitored by the team, contributing to continuous development and the integration of new tests into our programmes.

Our state-of-the-art, computerized logistical systems enable us to provide you with preliminary results at any time during testing.

Offering expertise and experience combined with use of the latest technology, NOTOX offers you a top quality service which is tailored to your specific needs.
